Leeds health club manager completes seven ultramarathons in seven days, raising over £2,000

The general manager of a Leeds health club has run seven ultramarathons in seven days to raise money for Crohn’s and colitis research.

The 320km challenge started at SE Sprots club on Kirkstall Road on Sunday 10 March, with club manager Kevin Easley relying on determination and the support of the SES to see him through each day. After a week of hard work, Kevin completed his final run at the SES club, cheered on by members, colleagues and loved ones.

Kevin’s journey is deeply personal, stemming from his own battle with ulcerative colitis, as well as watching his sister and nephew battle Crohn’s disease. He said: “Crohn’s & Colitis UK is a cause close to my heart and this challenge is my way of giving back and supporting the charity’s valuable work.

“It’s been an exhausting week and every step has felt like a battle as I have an ostomy bag but knowing I’m making a difference to others affected by Crohn’s and Colitis has really kept me going. I’m looking forward to a few days of rest!”

“I’ve been so humbled by the encouragement from everyone at the SES Club and the charity and family. Even when the challenge seemed daunting, their belief in me has really motivated me. Their support has been my driving force step by step.”

Wade Hassan Selman, CEO and co-founder of SES said: “Kevin’s victory of seven ultramarathons in seven days is absolutely extraordinary. His unwavering dedication and perseverance has not only inspired us all but brought valuable attention to Crohn’s and Colitis. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and grateful for the positive impact he has made.”
