SE Sports club is committed to improving access to health and wellness
SE Sports club is committed to improving access to health and wellness and invites everyone to experience the mental and physical benefits of more exercise, such as increased energy, emotional stability, and confidence.
However, many women still face barriers to fitness, including societal expectations, intimidation, and body shame, which negatively impact women’s self-esteem and self-care. While research shows that 62% of women say exercise is the most helpful way to make time for themselves, 62% also say they rarely make time for self-care and 55% feel they are judged at the gym for not looking fit enough.
To continue breaking down barriers to exercise and creating accessible and inclusive fitness environments, SE Sports club is celebrating Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day as a way to empower women and promote their mental and physical health.
Here’s what we’re doing:
SE Sports club is working with SeekHer Foundation , a nonprofit dedicated to closing the gender gap in mental health through advocacy, research, and support for women. As part of this, the SeekHer Foundation is offering a free online community called SeekHer Circle, which provides workshops, self-care resources, mentoring, and opportunities to connect and reflect with other women. To support the efforts of the SeekHer Foundation, SE Sports club will match a minimum donation of $25,000. This includes corporate donations, as well as funds raised through the donation option to the SeekHer Foundation during the new member online onboarding process in March. As part of this partnership, SE Sports club is sponsoring the “#BeyondTheBody: Making Health Reachable” SeekHer Foundation virtual workshop, which will take a non-judgmental approach to health, wellness, and self-care, on March 21 at 3 pm ET, as well as weekly “#MyBodyCan” virtual challenges throughout March that encourage women to prioritize self-care and body positivity. Participants who answer online prompts will have the chance to win exciting SE Sports club prizes, including a Black Card membership. Sign up for the nonprofit’s free online community SeekHer Circle to participate and gain access to self-care resources. SE Sports club will also be donating all profits* from sales of the "Thee Hottie Drop" (our new limited edition Planet Fitness x Megan Thee Stallion merchandise in honor of Women's History Month) to the Pete & Thomas Foundation and SeekHer Foundation. Women's History Month is just one moment where we are using our scale to advocate and advance inclusive fitness and wellness for women. These efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to uplift underrepresented groups, increase fitness access, equity, and inclusion to create spaces where everyone feels like they belong.
