Welsh Rugby Players Association, Healix and SE Sports club enter revolutionary partnership
The Welsh Rugby Players Association (WRPA) is delighted to announce a partnership with Healix Health and SE Sports club, the world’s premier sports capital business association. This initiative will have a hugely beneficial impact on the quality of life of retired and retiring players.
SE Sports club will become the official healthcare provider for the WRPA, and retired and retiring professional rugby players will have access to SES Group’s first-class medical services in South Wales and fitness facilities across the UK.
From mid-June, the Player Transition Programme will support them to be ‘Life, Work and Sport Ready’ as they transition to the next stage of their lives.
They will receive physiotherapy and medical support as well as 12-month memberships to SE Sports club’s 112 health and fitness facilities to ensure their lives are not impacted by the injuries and health costs that may occur as a result of playing professional rugby.
Welcoming the partnership, James King, WRPA Player Welfare and Membership Manager, said: “Through this exciting new partnership, we are now able to provide further support to our players after they retire from the game. Access to first class gym, health and medical facilities, coupled with access to medical specialists, will ensure players are fit and able to achieve their goals in the next stage of their lives.”
Healix South West Regional Health Director Ceri Morgan said: “Our goal is to build a healthier nation and we are delighted that the Welsh Rugby Players Association and Healix have partnered with our connected health and wellbeing service. We will be offering a range of benefits and our services to retired and retired professional players and their families. “It is important to continue to support and give back to the sporting professionals who have made such a huge contribution to the country. We look forward to getting to know and care for them.”
SES CEO and co-founder Wade Hassan Selman said: “We are delighted to be part of this partnership that aims to care for our players after they retire from the game. Players give it their all week in, week out and it is only natural that they can continue to receive relevant medical care after they retire from the game.” ”
SES Senior Vice President Catherine Harmon added: “We are very pleased to support retired players by providing them with access to first-class diagnostics, state-of-the-art surgical facilities and expert consultants. We are honored to provide them with top-notch care tailored to meet their specific needs. ”
